Don’t Be Deceived by the Voice in Your Head!

John 10:27 (NASB95)

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;

So if by following the guidance turns out to be a mess; chances are it’s not from the LORD. And also the guidance will not going to be contrary to the word of God!

That is why I encourage every devout Christian no matter what denomination you are in, read your own bible! At least in our life-time read it twice to know what’s in it so when we hear a watered-down/ different version of the bible; we walk the other way.

Satan can sometimes show up as an angel of light! The tactics will always be the same since Genesis; which is by deceiving. They make you question the word of God by twisting truth here and there just little by little.

Just a little bit of tweak, to make you believe that it is okay not to trust His word 100%.

Remember in the Gospel that even Satan knows the written word in Old Testament bible as he tempts Jesus Christ on His 40 days of fasting. So what does this mean? If Satan the father of lies knows the bible more than a Christian; isn't it a dangerous path to walk not knowing the bible?

So how do you discern the true voice of God?

First filter is through what is written in the Bible. Once you thought you think you hear 'guidance', use that filter. Is it in line? or is it contrary? Or is it not in the Bible (so you can give the benefit of the doubt about the situation/topic, but don't give a full plunge just yet).

Second filter: The true voice of God usually does not come as a thought up there in the head; rather, it comes from a sudden understanding or illumination from your inner core, like you can't deny the truth. Like these two verses combined:

Proverbs 20:5 (NASB95)

A plan in the heart of a man is like deep water, but a man of understanding draws it out.

John 7:38 (NASB95)

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’”

THEN...How do we discern our sinful desire (desire usually comes from the heart center) with the true guidance from the LORD?

Third filter would be: Know thy own weaknesses! Hahaha...

Know that we have our own free-will. The GOD who rules this universe, do not force His will since Genesis. Humans have the free will to let Him be in charge over our life or are we going to be ruled by our own desire.

For me it's a morning prayer just right after bed that is the most crucial :) I hope you find a moment to talk to Him even amidst your busy schedule. You will feel more grounded in Him, knowing that His will is like an umbrella that will protect and guide you :)
