More less…;)

Hygge (read: Hoo Gah)
Hygge (read: Hoo Gah)

Ecclesiastes 2:10 (NASB95)
All that my eyes desired I did not refuse them. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure, for my heart was pleased because of all my labor and this was my reward for all my labor.

And the definition of Hygge (read: Hoo Gah) according to Oxford English dictionary:

Esp. with reference to Danish culture: a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being; contentment from simple pleasures, such as warmth, food, friends, etc.

I am highlighting the word contentment; because also according to Ecclesiastes 5:19

Ecclesiastes 5:19 (NASB95)
Furthermore, as for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, He has also empowered him to eat from them and to receive his reward and rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.

So if we get to enjoy and rejoice from our labor; it is a gift from God! Before I read Ecclesiastes book; I never thought about it that way; just go through with life as what everybody else is doing. If I get to be able to buy things from the money I earn; that's just the way it is. Nothing special.

Little did I know to be able to work and earn some money is also a blessing in it self. And the feeling of contentment inside of me is also a gift from God.

Ecclesiastes 2:24 (NASB95)
There is nothing better for a man than to eat and drink and tell himself that his labor is good. This also I have seen that it is from the hand of God.

And then we get to see the depressing side of the book of Ecclesiastes as well. Some of you might be familiar with the terms of vanity oh vanity! Life is a vanity! HAHA... The book of Ecclesiastes talks about the vanity of life and how everything is fleeting.

The moment we get to experienced in life, the people we like/dislike, the things we own; and our own breath is fleeting.

So do I agree to apply Hygge into life? ABSOLUTELY! I agree that we have to enjoy life; savoring the moments of a simple pleasures in life; and the definition of Hygge would seem different to everyone!

At the end of the day,

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 says:
The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.
